Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Jeffrey Colley took the kick off in the first half of the match. 9 minutes into the match, Les Mudd had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Grant Rooney. Evolution's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Les Mudd was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Piers Jennings hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Jeffrey Colley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Freddie Meehan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Jeffrey Colley's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Freddie Meehan was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. After some careless play in the Ninfield defense, Jeffrey Colley kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Freddie Meehan. The Ninfield fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Freddie Meehan should have stopped the shot. 32 minutes into the match, Evolution's goalkeeper Grant Rooney had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mickey Ashton. The audience was convinced that Jeffrey Colley's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Freddie Meehan was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mickey Ashton during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 38th minute, Mickey Ashton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ritchie Bator to strike the kick off in the second half. Paul Blackwater was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 52 minutes into the match. In the 51st minute, one of Evolution:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Evolution. Mickey Ashton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Grant Rooney having to interfere. In the 69th match minute, Evolution was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vernon Drysdale to maneuver through the defense. Evolution's Grant Rooney played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mickey Ashton in the 70th minute of play. When Ritchie Bator fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ninfield's protests and gave Ritchie Bator a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Evolution booed when Ninfield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ritchie Bator didn't get a good kick on the ball. 75 minutes into the match, Jeffrey Colley had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Freddie Meehan. Ninfield's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jeffrey Colley was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Grant Rooney made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ritchie Bator in the 81st minute of play. Evolution's Grant Rooney played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mickey Ashton in the 82nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Ninfield's zone, Jeffrey Colley stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Freddie Meehan came out of the goal and Jeffrey Colley tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Ritchie Bator had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 94th minute Mickey Ashton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Grant Rooney saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
