Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Chiswick's Gaz Breeden started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Gaz Breeden had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carl Harrison hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Gaz Breeden received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Dean Speight tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. John Paul Porter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marlon Darnbrooke having to interfere. Dean Speight made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marty Clarke in the 15th minute of play. Chiswick's Wesley Burrows got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Chiswick's Sammy Dewhirst in the 20th minute got a chance for a shot 20th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Diss AFC's goalie prevented a goal. Chiswick's Marlon Darnbrooke proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Chiswick from getting a goal against them. Marlon Darnbrooke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ash Hudson in the 28th minute of play. Sammy Dewhirst struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Dean Speight didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chiswick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Johnathon Durrant in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dean Speight saved Diss AFC from getting behind. 32 minutes into the game, Carl Harrison was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Diss AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chiswick the free kick. Carl Harrison hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Dean Speight didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gaz Breeden went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. John Paul Porters short, quick shot in the 39thth minute got Marlon Darnbrooke to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Gaz Breeden sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ash Hudson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When John Paul Porter fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Diss AFC's protests and gave John Paul Porter a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Diss AFC's John Paul Porter got a free kick in the 51st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Diss AFC's zone, William Slade stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dean Speight came out of the goal and William Slade tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marty Clarke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 73rd minute, Sammy Dewhirst got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 81 minutes into the match, John Paul Porter notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Chiswick's Marlon Darnbrooke. Marlon Darnbrooke was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Chiswick's William Slade in the 86th minute got a chance for a shot 86th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Diss AFC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 98th minute, Chiswick's Gaz Breeden ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Dean Speight. Dean Speight yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. When the final whistle sounded Chiswick left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Diss AFC.
