Dean Atkins started the match with the kick off. Carl Budden stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ash Hudson's shot from short distance in the 3rd minute. John Paul Porter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Hextable United's Craig Snowden got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. John Paul Porter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carl Budden having to interfere. After 19 minutes, Tyler Cahill mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hextable United and the Diss AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Hextable United getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Tyler Cahill hit a great ball. In the 20th minute John Paul Porter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carl Budden saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 26th minute, Hextable United's Dean Atkins ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Dean Speight. Dean Speight yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Carl Budden came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Diss AFC's John Paul Porter. But to his dismay, John Paul Porter quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Ash Hudson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carl Budden having to interfere. Ash Hudson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ash Hudson was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Ash Hudson reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Carl Budden. The goal made the score 1-2. A collision led to Hextable United getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Pete Vaughn hit a great ball. 57 minutes into the game, one of Hextable United:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Ash Hudson kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Carl Budden took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ash Hudson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If John Paul Porter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st minute Ash Hudson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carl Budden saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carl Budden made an important save on a dangerous shot by John Paul Porter in the 78th minute. Ash Hudson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Diss AFC's John Paul Porter got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Diss AFC's Ash Hudson in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hextable United's goalie prevented a goal. When Ash Hudson came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Diss AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ash Hudson couldn't finish the play. If Ash Hudson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when John Paul Porter got free with Carl Budden in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Hextable United's Devon Bassett got a free kick in the 95th minute. In the 98th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hextable United's goalkeeper Carl Budden, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the match was over Diss AFC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Hextable United throughout the match.
