Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Halstead FC RT's Ritchie Bator started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 5 played minutes Chiswick got a freekick which was hit by Gaz Linford. 8 minutes into the match, Halstead FC RT's goal looked a bit too open when Gaz Breeden came free, but Freddie Meehan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sammy Dewhirst got free with Freddie Meehan in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 13 minutes into the match, Mickey Ashton had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marlon Darnbrooke. Chiswick's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mickey Ashton was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 22nd minute Marty Clarke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Freddie Meehan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rueben Gardener took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marlon Darnbrooke. Marlon Darnbrooke dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. In the 27th minute, Chiswick's William Slade dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. When Halstead FC RT's Ritchie Bator in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Chiswick's goalie prevented a goal. Freddie Meehan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaz Breeden, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gaz Breeden kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Freddie Meehan made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Sammy Dewhirst sent off a good shot on target. After the first half Halstead FC RT were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gaz Breeden stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marlon Darnbrooke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rueben Gardener in the 52nd minute of play. After some careless play in the Halstead FC RT defense, Marty Clarke kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Freddie Meehan. The Halstead FC RT fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Freddie Meehan should have stopped the shot. Gaz Linford charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gaz Linford the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Chiswick's Gaz Linford got a free kick in the 56th minute. The supporters of Halstead FC RT booed when Chiswick was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sammy Dewhirst didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 58 minutes, Mickey Ashton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Halstead FC RT's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mickey Ashton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mickey Ashton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 66th minute, Gaz Breeden left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Chiswick fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. After 74 minutes of play, Chiswick's Sammy Dewhirst made it 4-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Freddie Meehan was left in no man's land by his defense there! 77 minutes into the match, Halstead FC RT's goal looked a bit too open when Sammy Dewhirst came free, but Freddie Meehan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 80th minute Wesley Burrows shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Freddie Meehan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Halstead FC RT's Stew Coton got a free kick in the 81st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Chiswick's zone, Ritchie Bator stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marlon Darnbrooke came out of the goal and Ritchie Bator tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Sammy Dewhirst fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chiswick's protests and gave Sammy Dewhirst a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Halstead FC RT booed when Chiswick was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sammy Dewhirst didn't get a good kick on the ball.
