If Doug Butcher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 38 minutes, Daryl Bullard managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. La Cicloneta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daryl Bullard was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kris Prior's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Karl Pitt read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daryl Bullard was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute Kris Prior shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl Pitt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pat Lindley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Doug Butcher, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tom Kemp received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Karl Pitt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 60th match minute, La Cicloneta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kris Prior to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of La Cicloneta booed when Donnington United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rick Tyrell didn't get a good kick on the ball. La Cicloneta's supporters rose to their feet, but Tom Kemp was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Karl Pitt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the referee ended the match the La Cicloneta players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
