When Ollie Stockdale came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the South Shields fans jumped to their feet. Neil Slade might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Quentin Renner. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ollie Stockdale in the 30th minute of play forced Marmarisspor's goalkeeper Quentin Renner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ollie Stockdale might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Quentin Renner. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ollie Stockdale ran back to his position shaking his head. Tosh Shields could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Vince Piercy made a huge save. Vince Piercy didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Robbie Bayford went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Neil Slade in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Quentin Renner prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jeremy Moxey was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 41 minutes into the match. Marmarisspor:s Quentin Renner showed great skill when he stopped Stuart Welch:s penalty. 43 minutes into the game, South Shields's Stuart Welch nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Quentin Renner made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

It was a well-played corner which Grant Shipperley managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. 56 minutes into the game, Robbie Bayford was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Marmarisspor's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave South Shields the free kick. After a rather tough play, Marmarisspor's Robbie Bayford got a free kick in the 56th minute. Ollie Stockdale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Quentin Renner having to interfere.
