After a defensive mix-up in Shaftesbury FC's zone, Martin Folwill stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Barry Tully came out of the goal and Martin Folwill tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Martin Folwill sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 32 minutes into the match, Martin Folwill had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Barry Tully. Shaftesbury FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Martin Folwill was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Sean Barr charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sean Barr the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Sean Barr hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Christian Beasley succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-1 in the 36th playminute. In the 47th minute, Christian Beasley made a precise shot to the right of Bill Kay. Purple Cobras's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Shaftesbury FC's Christian Beasley got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Barry Tully made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martin Folwill in the 63rd minute of play. Christian Beasley recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Tyrone Bevan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. In the 81st minute Trev Gardener shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bill Kay saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Martin Folwill during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Purple Cobras getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Martin Folwill hit a great ball. 85 minutes into the match, Purple Cobras's goal looked a bit too open when Christian Beasley came free, but Bill Kay reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Barry Tully made an important save on a dangerous shot by Johnny Attwood in the 87th minute. Purple Cobras's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Perry Toovey in the 89th minute. A nice corner shot did that Perry Toovey got away a dangerous shot. After 95 played minutes, Shaftesbury FC's Nath Forrest shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Bill Kay came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Shaftesbury FC reached it. After having played for 96 minutes, Christian Beasley managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Shaftesbury FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Christian Beasley was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
