After 2 played minutes Arcena got a freekick which was hit by Shaun Bowen. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edward Saunders in the 4th minute of play forced South Shields's goalkeeper Vince Piercy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 7th minute, Neil Slade made a precise shot to the right of Daniel Howson. Arcena's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Vince Piercy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edward Saunders in the 16th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rio Lyons in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vince Piercy saved South Shields from getting behind. The supporters of South Shields booed when Arcena was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gav Panther didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22nd minute of the match Stuart Welch shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Daniel Howson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 23rdth minute of the game Ollie Stockdale who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Arcena's Daniel Howson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Vince Piercy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edward Saunders in the 32nd minute of the match. Stuart Welch hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. 34 minutes into the game, Arcena's Edward Saunders nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vince Piercy made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. 40 minutes into the match, Arcena's goal looked a bit too open when Ollie Stockdale came free, but Daniel Howson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in South Shields's zone, Rio Lyons stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vince Piercy came out of the goal and Rio Lyons tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ollie Stockdale stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, South Shields's goal looked a bit too open when Edward Saunders came free, but Vince Piercy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vince Piercy was a little too slow when Edward Saunders got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 53rd minute. The score was now 1-3. In the 56th minute, Grant Shipperley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 58th match minute, South Shields was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ollie Stockdale to maneuver through the defense. Shaun Bowen might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vince Piercy. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Shaun Bowen ran back to his position shaking his head. Nat Tuck's late challenge caught a South Shields's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nat Tuck helped the player get up and apologised. Nat Tuck kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. When Ollie Stockdale came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the South Shields fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ollie Stockdale couldn't finish the play. In the 80th match minute, Arcena was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edward Saunders to maneuver through the defense. Daniel Howson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ollie Stockdale went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-4 was the resulting score. With a little luck, South Shields's Vince Piercy got control of the ball when Edward Saunders tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Arcena's Donald Cryer got a free kick in the 90th minute. Stuart Welch, 91 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 93rd match minute, Arcena was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gav Panther to maneuver through the defense. 94 minutes into the match, South Shields's Stuart Welch broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Daniel Howson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ollie Stockdale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
