Spectators: 7009 (Terracing: 6009, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Tommy Gerrard got the match started through his kick off. Nigel Hilton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nigel Hilton in the 6th minute of play forced Wombwell United's goalkeeper Kris Patten to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Felix Dumpleton kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. 13 minutes into the game, Ronny Reddington lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Derek Croxford. The throw-in from Ronnie Hodges in the 21st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Wombwell United's Kris Blueman. After 22 played minutes Fc.Piki1one got a freekick which was hit by Eddy Curtis. A hard shot 25 in the game by Ronny Reddington from a close distance when the talented Derek Croxford managed to make a qualified save. Fc.Piki1one's players were relieved. Tommy Gerrard's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kris Patten read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Ronny Reddington's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Derek Croxford was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. In the 37th minute Ronny Reddington shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Derek Croxford saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wombwell United's Kris Patten played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tommy Gerrard in the 39th minute of play. If Ronny Reddington had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ronny Reddington to make the kick off. Kris Blueman hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Wombwell United's Kris Patten played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tommy Gerrard in the 59th minute of play. Ronny Reddington sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ronny Reddington received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Derek Croxford tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 67th minute, Jerry Knight-Percival got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 73 minutes, Ronny Reddington managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wombwell United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ronny Reddington was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kris Patten showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tommy Gerrard, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Derek Croxford took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronny Reddington, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Eddy Curtis kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Kris Patten. That made the score 1-1 in the 79 minute of play. When the match had gone on for 82 minutes, Ronny Reddington put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Derek Croxford. Kris Patten made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tommy Gerrard in the 86th minute of play. If Ronny Reddington had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Wombwell United's Kris Patten played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tommy Gerrard in the 89th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tommy Gerrard in the 92nd minute of play forced Wombwell United's goalkeeper Kris Patten to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 94 minutes into the match, Wombwell United's goal looked a bit too open when Tommy Gerrard came free, but Kris Patten reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee ended the match the Wombwell United players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
