In the 57th minute Louis Welsh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Damian Keane saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 58th match minute, Renton United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Grant Duff to maneuver through the defense. Louis Welsh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Damian Keane having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Louis Welsh managed to get in a good position for a shot. Trinidad's supporters rose to their feet, but Louis Welsh was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Damian Keane breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Damian Keane made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leigh Fayle in the 65th minute of play. After having played for 69 minutes, Louis Welsh managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Trinidad's supporters crossed their fingers, but Louis Welsh was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 70 played minutes Renton United got a freekick which was hit by Matthew Bartlett. After a defensive mix-up in Renton United's zone, Leigh Fayle stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Damian Keane came out of the goal and Leigh Fayle tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jay Peat received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ivan England came out and tried to block the shot, but Jay Peat slotted it home off the left post making it 0-1 in the 78th minute. Damian Keane made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leigh Fayle in the 82nd minute of play. The supporters of Trinidad booed when Renton United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Norman Burns didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leigh Fayle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Damian Keane having to interfere. If Leigh Fayle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Renton United walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
