Husbands Bosworth's Jo Cavanagh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dale Alderson in the 3rd minute of play. If Loyd Holyfield had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tim Bullard made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Shane Bator in the 8th minute of play. 10 minutes into the match, Longridge AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Shane Bator came free, but Tim Bullard reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Shane Bator fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tim Bullard having to interfere. Sammy Warden's late challenge caught a Husbands Bosworth's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sammy Warden helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Husbands Bosworth booed when Longridge AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sammy Warden didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 19th minute, Edward Dodgson sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Longridge AFC's Tim Bullard didn't even have to move. Shane Bator's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tim Bullard read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Shane Bator in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tim Bullard saved Longridge AFC from getting behind. In the 34th minute of the match Gus Lawless sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jo Cavanagh skillfully saved the ball. Longridge AFC's Tim Bullard played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Shane Bator in the 37th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Jonathon Eldridge managed to get in a good position for a shot. Husbands Bosworth's supporters rose to their feet, but Jonathon Eldridge was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tim Bullard breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tim Bullard made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Shane Bator in the 45th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mark Price in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tim Bullard saved Longridge AFC from getting behind. Shane Bator scored 2-0 in the 73rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tim Bullard, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Loyd Holyfield fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jo Cavanagh having to interfere. Shane Bator blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tim Bullard having to make a save. After having played for 95 minutes, Mark Price managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Husbands Bosworth's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mark Price was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Husbands Bosworth had won after a very even match.
