Mark Price took the ball and in the 8 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised George Green. George Green dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Runcorn's George Green played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mark Price in the 13th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Philip Riley in the 21st minute of play forced Runcorn's goalkeeper George Green to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Mark Price could shoot a difficult shot in the 23rd minute, which George Green however easily saved by the left post. Jo Cavanagh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dane Beaver, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Jo Cavanagh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Duncan Draper, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Shane Bator to make the kick off. When Jonathon Eldridge fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Husbands Bosworth's protests and gave Jonathon Eldridge a yellow card for diving instead. Jonathon Eldridge kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. 58 minutes in the game, Duncan Draper fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Jo Cavanagh having to interfere. George Green didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Shane Bator went, in the 61st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. If Mark Price had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dane Beaver came free with the goalkeeper in the 68th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Jo Cavanagh could save by the left post. 71 minutes into the match, Husbands Bosworth's goal looked a bit too open when Duncan Draper came free, but Jo Cavanagh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gwyn Wybrow got free with Jo Cavanagh in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 80th minute of the match, Duncan Draper tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jo Cavanagh saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. With a little luck, Husbands Bosworth's Jo Cavanagh got control of the ball when Dane Beaver tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 86th match minute, Husbands Bosworth was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Shane Bator to maneuver through the defense.
