After 7 minutes of play, Leyton Orient's Alec Bittner made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Piers Bowe was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Cardiff City getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Jeff Matthews hit a great ball. 13 minutes into the game, Alec Bittner cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Piers Bowe was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 16th minute, Kristian Middleton reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Piers Bowe. The goal made the score 3-0. In the 23rd minute, Alec Bittner left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Leyton Orient fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alec Callery got free with Piers Bowe in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tommy Blake lost his temper 30 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After a rather tough play, Cardiff City's Tommy Blake got a free kick in the 30th minute. Leyton Orient's Sacha Radcliffe got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cardiff City's defense didn't have a chance, in the 37th minute, when Kristian Middleton scored to the left of an out of position Piers Bowe, making the score, 5-0. If Sacha Radcliffe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-0 at half-time.

In the 53rd minute Alec Callery shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Piers Bowe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Kristian Middleton's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Piers Bowe was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. Sacha Radcliffe's late challenge caught a Cardiff City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sacha Radcliffe helped the player get up and apologised. After 56 played minutes Leyton Orient got a freekick which was hit by Sacha Radcliffe. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alec Bittner in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Piers Bowe saved Cardiff City from getting behind. 60 minutes into the match, Toni Cancino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Piers Bowe. Cardiff City's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Toni Cancino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0. Cardiff City's Piers Bowe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alec Bittner in the 65th minute of play. Piers Bowe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alec Callery in the 67th minute of the match. Alec Bittner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience was convinced that Alec Bittner's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Piers Bowe was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. Piers Bowe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alec Bittner in the 73rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alec Bittner in the 74th minute of play forced Cardiff City's goalkeeper Piers Bowe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 81 minutes, Alec Bittner managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Leyton Orient's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alec Bittner was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Piers Bowe stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alec Bittner's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. Alec Callery fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Piers Bowe having to interfere. 93 minutes into the match, Cardiff City's goal looked a bit too open when Alec Callery came free, but Piers Bowe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Leyton Orient had played much better football throughout.
