Thanks to some nice moves Roy Dwyer could shoot a difficult shot in the 14th minute, which Walter Shipley however easily saved by the left post. In the 14th minute, Paybridge Celtic's Hugh Ellerby dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 35 minutes into the match, Paybridge Celtic's goal looked a bit too open when Benjamin Gerrard came free, but Lewis Winstanley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Iain Steel came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Paybridge Celtic fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iain Steel couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benjamin Gerrard in the 44th minute of play forced Paybridge Celtic's goalkeeper Lewis Winstanley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wesley Charles could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Walter Shipley made a huge save. The supporters of Paybridge Celtic booed when Vauxhall FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matt Harris didn't get a good kick on the ball.
