Spectators: 8393 (Terracing: 6297, Seating: 1930, VIP seats: 166) Gerry Buckler started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Vern Pickard came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by Blyth AFC's Virgilio Valery. But to his dismay, Virgilio Valery quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Thē Ŵhïppętś's Vern Pickard played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jânio Guedes in the 13th minute of play. Thē Ŵhïppętś's Andy Halliday got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Blyth AFC booed when Thē Ŵhïppętś was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joshua Brumfitt didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th minute Charles Buard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vern Pickard saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. John Paul Long recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Gerry Buckler put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Vern Pickard. Philip Ash charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Philip Ash the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 28 played minutes Thē Ŵhïppętś got a freekick which was hit by Philip Ash. After 30 minutes, Gerry Buckler made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Thē Ŵhïppętś's Vern Pickard tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Gerry Buckler might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vern Pickard. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gerry Buckler ran back to his position shaking his head. 36 minutes into the game, Gerry Buckler cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Vern Pickard was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Vern Pickard took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Virgilio Valery, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Den Hartshorn was the one to do the kick off. John Paul Long blasted a shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vern Pickard having to make a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Charles Buard during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 55th minute, Charles Buard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jack Nicholson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Den Hartshorn, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. A hard shot 59 in the game by Gerry Buckler from a close distance when the talented Vern Pickard managed to make a qualified save. Thē Ŵhïppętś's players were relieved. 60 minutes into the game, Billie Morrison was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Blyth AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Thē Ŵhïppętś the free kick. Billie Morrison kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Blyth AFC's Gerry Buckler got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thē Ŵhïppętś's Vern Pickard played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerry Buckler in the 76th minute of play. In the 81st minute, Gerry Buckler got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. John Paul Long recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vern Pickard made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerry Buckler in the 85th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by John Paul Long in the 87th minute of play forced Thē Ŵhïppętś's goalkeeper Vern Pickard to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
