Legia Warszawa's Julio Bastian played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ian Emander in the 9th minute of play. 9 minutes into the match, Legia Warszawa's goal looked a bit too open when Ian Emander came free, but Julio Bastian reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Legia Warszawa's Julio Bastian played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ian Emander in the 9th minute of play. In the 9thth minute of the game John Donnelly who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Legia Warszawa's Julio Bastian was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that John Donnelly's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Bastian was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. Charles Downing lost his temper 13 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 13 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. When the match clock showed 20 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Pierce Gerrard sped through Legia Warszawa's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Julio Bastian. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Legia Warszawa's goalkeeper Julio Bastian, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some careless play in the Legia Warszawa defense, John Donnelly kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Bastian. The Legia Warszawa fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Bastian should have stopped the shot. 29 minutes into the match, TibaDons's goalkeeper Pepe Le Petit had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Larry Maston. Marek Sykes made a great header on TibaDons's corner, it was just that Legia Warszawa's Julio Bastian managed to reach the ball for a save. When Damien Ingham fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Legia Warszawa's protests and gave Damien Ingham a yellow card for diving instead. With a little luck, Legia Warszawa's Julio Bastian got control of the ball when Ian Emander tried to sneak it across the goal line. Julio Bastian breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 66 minutes into the match, Legia Warszawa's goalkeeper Julio Bastian had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by John Donnelly. John Donnelly received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Julio Bastian tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Legia Warszawa's Albert Brindley got a free kick in the 71st minute. The crowd rose to their feet as John Donnelly kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Julio Bastian. That made the score 1-3 in the 74 minute of play. A beautiful save bye Legia Warszawa's goalie prevented a goal. Pierce Gerrard recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Julio Bastian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from John Donnelly, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Bastian made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Eric Clegg sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Legia Warszawa's zone, Pierce Gerrard stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Bastian came out of the goal and Pierce Gerrard tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. TibaDons's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
