Li Hai Yan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patrick Colbert having to interfere. Denny Horsell hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Zane Woodhall took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 16th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Patrick Colbert. CHK Eagles's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The audience was convinced that Li Hai Yan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Patrick Colbert was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. Li Hai Yan struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Patrick Colbert didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ampthill FC. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Wang Hao Zheng managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ampthill FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Wang Hao Zheng was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Patrick Colbert breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Li Hai Yan received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Patrick Colbert came out and tried to block the shot, but Li Hai Yan slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 25th minute. Ampthill FC's Drew Knight played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matty Gold in the 28th minute of play. When Ampthill FC's Li Hai Yan in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye CHK Eagles's goalie prevented a goal. Rob Tynan charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rob Tynan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 37th match minute, CHK Eagles was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rob Tynan to maneuver through the defense. Patrick Colbert made an important save on a dangerous shot by Li Hai Yan in the 40th minute. Drew Knight came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by CHK Eagles's Matty Gold. But to his dismay, Matty Gold quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Li Hai Yan made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, Ethan Mills hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 54 minutes into the match, CHK Eagles's goal looked a bit too open when Li Hai Yan came free, but Patrick Colbert reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 55 minutes of play, CHK Eagles's Matty Gold made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Drew Knight was left in no man's land by his defense there! Wang Hao Zheng hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. In the 62nd minute Li Hai Yan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrick Colbert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. During the 66th minute of the match Rob Tynan completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Rob Tynan a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to CHK Eagles getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Rob Tynan hit a great ball. The supporters of Ampthill FC booed when CHK Eagles was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rob Tynan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Patrick Colbert stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Allan Winship's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. Jordan Gill recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Drew Knight took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matty Gold, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, CHK Eagles's Ethan Mills got a free kick in the 85th minute. CHK Eagles's Patrick Colbert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Allan Winship in the 86th minute of play. Patrick Colbert made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Allan Winship in the 92nd minute of play. Ampthill FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Zane Woodhall in the 93rd minute. The corner led Ampthill FC's Russ Barton to fire away a dangerous shot which Patrick Colbert despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball.
