In the 12th minute, Theo Easter hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lance Eyre in the 14th minute of play forced Ilfracombe's goalkeeper Gyuro Angeliev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 24 minutes into the match, Ilfracombe's goalkeeper Gyuro Angeliev had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tosh Higginson. Peter Robson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dominic Jamieson in the 25th minute of play. Gyuro Angeliev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zak Crocker in the 27th minute of the match. Peter Robson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dominic Jamieson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ilfracombe's Gyuro Angeliev proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Ilfracombe from getting a goal against them. Dominic Jamieson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peter Robson having to interfere. In the 37th minute Dominic Jamieson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peter Robson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tosh Higginson was the one to do the kick off. Hythe United Rangers's Peter Robson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Theo Easter in the 51st minute of play. If Dominic Jamieson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gyuro Angeliev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zak Crocker, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. In the 68th minute, Zak Crocker left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hythe United Rangers fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Peter Robson was out of position in the 72 minute of play, and Dominic Jamieson capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Dominic Jamieson really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Zak Crocker recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 83rd minute Zak Crocker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gyuro Angeliev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
