Drew Knight was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Lee Rush showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 7 minute of play. Wang Hao Zheng kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind The Wheeliebins's goalkeeper Carlton Harkness, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 18 minutes into the game, Larry Blackwood was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The Wheeliebins's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ampthill FC the free kick. After 18 played minutes The Wheeliebins got a freekick which was hit by Larry Blackwood. When Ampthill FC's Li Hai Yan in the 23rd minute got a chance for a shot 23rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye The Wheeliebins's goalie prevented a goal. Li Hai Yan scored 1-1 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Carlton Harkness, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Wheeliebins's Carlton Harkness played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Li Hai Yan in the 33rd minute of play. The Ampthill FC fans' excitement grew in the 40th match minute when Ampthill FC's Li Hai Yan looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Carlton Harkness made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Li Hai Yan in the 45th minute of play. Carlton Harkness took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Li Hai Yan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lee Rush to strike the kick off in the second half. Carlton Harkness showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Li Hai Yan, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Li Hai Yan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carlton Harkness read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. Li Hai Yan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Carlton Harkness made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Li Hai Yan in the 58th minute of play. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind The Wheeliebins's goalkeeper Carlton Harkness, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 61 minutes had been played when some careless play by The Wheeliebins's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Zane Woodhall was slow to take the kick. During this time Ampthill FC's players had a chance to rest. Nial Robinson tried in the 61st minute to hit away a contribution but miss-kicked the ball which ended up in his own goal and left an unhappy Carlton Harkness a with quite unnecessary self made goal. Result 1-3. Li Hai Yan took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Carlton Harkness. Carlton Harkness dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. The Wheeliebins's Carlton Harkness proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save The Wheeliebins from getting a goal against them. Carlton Harkness made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Allan Winship in the 73rd minute of play. With an all-out effort, Ampthill FC's Carlton Harkness threw himself towards the right post 75 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Allan Winship, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Ampthill FC's Drew Knight played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Milosz Falkiewicz in the 76th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lee Rush in the 77th minute of play forced Ampthill FC's goalkeeper Drew Knight to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carlton Harkness didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Allan Winship went, in the 78th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-5 was the resulting score. The Wheeliebins's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Dale Morris in the 83rd minute. The supporters of The Wheeliebins booed when Ampthill FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wang Hao Zheng didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 87th minute Lee Rush shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Drew Knight saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Wheeliebins's Carlton Harkness played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Allan Winship in the 88th minute of play. In the 94th minute, Allan Winship left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ampthill FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-6.
