The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Spike Barton scored 1-0 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gwyn Boyes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gwyn Boyes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Theo Hayles in the 14th minute of the match. If Brian Keane had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Great Yarmouth were furious when Marty Bettinson was red carded, 20 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 21st match minute, Great Yarmouth was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marty Bettinson to maneuver through the defense. In the 25th minute Eddie Power shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gwyn Boyes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 28th minute of the match SEA THE STARS got a corner. Great Yarmouth's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Theo Hayles took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gwyn Boyes. Gwyn Boyes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Alfred Clough took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brian Keane, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gwyn Boyes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Alfred Clough made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brian Keane in the 45th minute of play. Alfred Clough showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brian Keane, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Theo Hayles to strike the kick off in the second half. Gwyn Boyes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Theo Hayles in the 51st minute of the match. Carlton Ashton received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Alfred Clough came out and tried to block the shot, but Carlton Ashton slotted it home off the left post making it 5-2 in the 81st minute. When Brian Keane fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Great Yarmouth's protests and gave Brian Keane a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Great Yarmouth's Brian Keane got a free kick in the 86th minute. In the 88th minute, Brian Keane got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Great Yarmouth's Gwyn Boyes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Theo Hayles in the 95th minute of play. In the 96th minute Marlon Higginson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gwyn Boyes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. SEA THE STARS had played much better football throughout.
