Vince Carter charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vince Carter the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The Youth Project's Lucas Young played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nickolaj Nickerson in the 18th minute of play. In the 19th minute, Nickolaj Nickerson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Harlow AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 22nd minute, Nickolaj Nickerson made a precise shot to the right of Lucas Young. The Youth Project's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Quentin Cobb made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Harry Colman sent off a good shot on target. In the 29th minute of the match Harlow AFC got a corner. The Youth Project's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jay Marriot ran over to the corner to take the kick. Lucas Young made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nickolaj Nickerson in the 36th minute of play. 38 minutes into the match, Nickolaj Nickerson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lucas Young. The Youth Project's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nickolaj Nickerson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. 43 minutes into the game, Kristopher Sykes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The Youth Project's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Harlow AFC the free kick. After 43 played minutes The Youth Project got a freekick which was hit by Kristopher Sykes. The audience was convinced that Nickolaj Nickerson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lucas Young was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. In the 46th minute of the match, Alfie Chivers tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Quentin Cobb saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. A collision led to The Youth Project getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Kristopher Sykes hit a great ball. Nickolaj Nickerson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 49th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucas Young having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Lucas Young showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nickolaj Nickerson, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. After 60 minutes, Frank Zappacosta mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Harlow AFC and the The Youth Project players grew even worse after the yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nickolaj Nickerson got free with Lucas Young in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of The Youth Project booed when Harlow AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jay Marriot didn't get a good kick on the ball. Harlow AFC's Quentin Cobb played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfie Chivers in the 73rd minute of play. 78 minutes into the match, Harlow AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Harry Colman came free, but Quentin Cobb reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jay Marriot went to the cornerflag to take it. 88 minutes into the match, The Youth Project's goal looked a bit too open when Nickolaj Nickerson came free, but Lucas Young reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 93rd match minute, The Youth Project was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jamie Holland to maneuver through the defense.
