The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After taking down the ball on Harchester United's corner Arthur Geneste fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Syd Cullen quite easily take care of the ball. Neil Long made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Camilo Ferrara in the 15th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Camilo Ferrara in the 16th minute of play forced Harchester United's goalkeeper Neil Long to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Syd Cullen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emiliano Fidele, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
