The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dušan Plesník in the 4th minute of play forced Tatran HLOHOVEC's goalkeeper Rudolf Podracký to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dušan Belža sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience held their breath when Dušan Plesník in the 8th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Rudolf Podracký's left hand side. Ladislav Bartal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matej Hurt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Matej Hurt came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Tatran HLOHOVEC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Matej Hurt couldn't finish the play. Miloslav Honzík blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ladislav Bartal having to make a save. Miloslav Honzík might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ladislav Bartal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Miloslav Honzík ran back to his position shaking his head. If Matej Hurt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 25th match minute, Záturčie United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ján Chmelo to maneuver through the defense. When Daniel Hvorecký came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Tatran HLOHOVEC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Hvorecký couldn't finish the play. Miloslav Honzík fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ladislav Bartal having to interfere. Stano Kliment sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Miloslav Honzík had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Matej Hurt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dušan Belža to make the kick off. When Matej Hurt came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Tatran HLOHOVEC fans jumped to their feet. In the 81st match minute, Tatran HLOHOVEC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matej Hurt to maneuver through the defense. Miloslav Honzík struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Ladislav Bartal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tatran HLOHOVEC. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Miloslav Honzík in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ladislav Bartal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Miloslav Honzík sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dušan Belža's late challenge caught a Tatran HLOHOVEC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dušan Belža helped the player get up and apologised. After 90 played minutes Záturčie United got a freekick which was hit by Dušan Belža. Tatran HLOHOVEC were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Záturčie United to leave the ground with a draw.
