With a couple of smart ball manuevers Merlin Majstorović in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Brin Kursar saved Celje from getting behind. 10 minutes into the game, Celje's Esad Mrvar nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Meti Šimnovec made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. If Črtomir Kadič had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Kuzma booed when Celje was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erli Dežman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Meti Šimnovec made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tian Antonijević in the 20th minute of play. In the 21st minute, Marino Pograjc hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Esad Mrvar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Črtomir Kadič sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Ervin Robida fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kuzma's protests and gave Ervin Robida a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Kuzma getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Ervin Robida hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Tian Antonijević managed to get in a good position for a shot. Celje's supporters rose to their feet, but Tian Antonijević was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Meti Šimnovec breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Meti Šimnovec made an important save on a dangerous shot by Esad Mrvar in the 41st minute.

Merlin Majstorović fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brin Kursar having to interfere. Meti Šimnovec didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tian Antonijević went, in the 78th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Esad Mrvar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Celje's supporters rose to their feet, but Esad Mrvar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Meti Šimnovec breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Merlin Majstorović came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Kuzma fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Merlin Majstorović couldn't finish the play. 91 minutes in the game, Črtomir Kadič fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Brin Kursar having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Celje's Samo Jančar got a free kick in the 92nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Celje's zone, Črtomir Kadič stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brin Kursar came out of the goal and Črtomir Kadič tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Celje's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
