Elio Bizjak made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jurica Nemec in the 3rd minute. Bad Blue Boys's Elio Bizjak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zladko Špendl in the 5th minute of play. Nicolas Razdevšek took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ernest Tajnšek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vitodrag Hižak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicolas Razdevšek having to interfere. Egidij Kapun charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Egidij Kapun the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Bad Blue Boys getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Egidij Kapun hit a great ball. In the 25th minute of the match, Zladko Špendl tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Elio Bizjak saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 30th minute Ernest Tajnšek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicolas Razdevšek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 32 minutes into the game, Gabriel Pavlič was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lenart's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bad Blue Boys the free kick. Nicolas Razdevšek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ernest Tajnšek in the 35th minute of play. In the 36th match minute, Lenart was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nedžat Napast to maneuver through the defense. In the 39th minute, Vitodrag Hižak got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vitodrag Hižak received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Nicolas Razdevšek tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Lenart getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Valdi Potočin hit a great ball. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ernest Tajnšek to make the kick off. After 54 minutes of play Bad Blue Boys's Egidij Kapun was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Zladko Špendl received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Elio Bizjak tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Iztok Pintar kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. When Lenart's Jurica Nemec in the 64th minute got a chance for a shot 64th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Lenart's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jurica Nemec was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Jurica Nemec had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 76th match minute, Lenart was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valdi Potočin to maneuver through the defense. Vitodrag Hižak struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Nicolas Razdevšek didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bad Blue Boys. Blagoje Prevodnik received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Elio Bizjak tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Ernest Tajnšek fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bad Blue Boys's protests and gave Ernest Tajnšek a yellow card for diving instead. Lenart's Jurica Nemec got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 90 minutes of play, Lenart's Jurica Nemec made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Elio Bizjak was left in no man's land by his defense there! Lenart's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
