The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Milko Majski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Duško Turnšek in the 3rd minute of the match. After 4 played minutes HIT Gorica got a freekick which was hit by Tevž Filipović. After a rather tough play, HIT Gorica's Zlato Gorišek got a free kick in the 8th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Istok Šabotić in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Milko Majski saved Lovrenc na Pohorju FC from getting behind. After 12 minutes of play, HIT Gorica's Duško Turnšek made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Milko Majski was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Lovrenc na Pohorju FC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Dževad Kočar hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Lovrenc na Pohorju FC's zone, Duško Turnšek stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Milko Majski came out of the goal and Duško Turnšek tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Milko Majski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Istok Šabotić, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Duško Turnšek in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Milko Majski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Zlato Gorišek blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Milko Majski having to make a save. In the 34th match minute, Lovrenc na Pohorju FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edvin Banjac to maneuver through the defense. Zladko Muhić's late challenge caught a HIT Gorica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zladko Muhić helped the player get up and apologised. Zladko Muhić hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. HIT Gorica's Duško Turnšek got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 41st minute, Duško Turnšek ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Milko Majski was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. The HIT Gorica fans' excitement grew in the 45th match minute when HIT Gorica's Duško Turnšek looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

The wind increased when Duško Turnšek made the kick off in the second half. Duško Turnšek recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 53 minutes of play, HIT Gorica's Tevž Filipović made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Milko Majski was left in no man's land by his defense there! Milko Majski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Duško Turnšek in the 62nd minute of play. HIT Gorica's Lan Šorli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zladko Muhić in the 69th minute of play. Milko Majski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Duško Turnšek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lovrenc na Pohorju FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 77th minute, when Duško Turnšek scored to the left of an out of position Milko Majski, making the score, 0-7. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Duško Turnšek in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Milko Majski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 89 minutes, Teo Bremše mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lovrenc na Pohorju FC and the HIT Gorica players grew even worse after the yellow card.
