Cveto Novinec made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Lorenzo Krempl took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vinícius Paranaense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vinícius Paranaense struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Lorenzo Krempl didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for NK Koper. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arkadiusz Rojewski during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The NK Koper fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cveto Novinec should have stopped the shot. 48 minutes into the match, NK Koper's goal looked a bit too open when Omar Požeg came free, but Cveto Novinec reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half Cerkno MNK were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Omar Požeg to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Vinícius Paranaense's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lorenzo Krempl was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. Omar Požeg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cveto Novinec read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind NK Koper's goalkeeper Cveto Novinec, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 71 minutes into the match, Cerkno MNK's goal looked a bit too open when Istok Marinč came free, but Lorenzo Krempl reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 76 minutes, Cveto Novinec successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Lorenzo Krempl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vinícius Paranaense in the 77th minute of play. After 93 played minutes NK Koper got a freekick which was hit by Arkadiusz Rojewski. Cveto Novinec was out of position in the 97 minute of play, and Omar Požeg capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Omar Požeg really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3. When the match was over Cerkno MNK could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than NK Koper throughout the match.
