When Stevie Ridgeway fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored NK MONT's protests and gave Stevie Ridgeway a yellow card for diving instead. Stevie Ridgeway kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Norbert Sešek could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Miguel França made a huge save. Through an outstanding action, after 8 minutes, Miguel França successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Raphael De Lucca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to NK MONT getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Martin Fletcher hit a great ball. 15 minutes into the match, Kočevje FC's Claudio Vurkeljc sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Miguel França narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Feliks Šenk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raphael De Lucca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Raphael De Lucca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Feliks Šenk having to interfere. After 25 minutes, Claudio Vurkeljc mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kočevje FC and the NK MONT players grew even worse after the yellow card. Claudio Vurkeljc hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Kočevje FC defense, Raphael De Lucca kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Feliks Šenk. The Kočevje FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Feliks Šenk should have stopped the shot. In the 32nd minute, Znadimir Rutar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mirando Pokovec sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Raphael De Lucca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Feliks Šenk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raphael De Lucca in the 45th minute of play forced Kočevje FC's goalkeeper Feliks Šenk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Raphael De Lucca stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of NK MONT booed when Kočevje FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Norbert Sešek didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 58th minute, Claudio Vurkeljc left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Kočevje FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Feliks Šenk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raphael De Lucca in the 66th minute of play. Rajmund Dobnikar's late challenge caught a NK MONT's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rajmund Dobnikar helped the player get up and apologised. In the 68th minute there was a penalty for NK MONT. Hristofor Súrbev stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Feliks Šenk. 1-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Raphael De Lucca in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Feliks Šenk saved Kočevje FC from getting behind. After some careless play in the Kočevje FC defense, Raphael De Lucca kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Feliks Šenk. The Kočevje FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Feliks Šenk should have stopped the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Raphael De Lucca in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Feliks Šenk prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Raphael De Lucca managed to get in a good position for a shot. NK MONT's supporters rose to their feet, but Raphael De Lucca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Feliks Šenk breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Raphael De Lucca came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the NK MONT fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raphael De Lucca couldn't finish the play. In the 85th minute, Borko Srakar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Feliks Šenk was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. After a rather tough play, NK MONT's Martin Fletcher got a free kick in the 88th minute. In the 90th minute of the match Tit Markon shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Miguel França showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Borko Srakar kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. NK MONT's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
