In the 17th minute, Marc Duset got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 18th minute, Frans Flink left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The BK Merzog fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. If Frans Flink had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 25th minute, Tomas Boström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 26 played minutes, BK Merzog's Ivar Thidén shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Holger Dalman came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in BK Merzog reached it. Frans Flink sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 32ndth minute of the game Sten Billock who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but BK Merzog's Adam Hansson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Linneryd's Sten Billock in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye BK Merzog's goalie prevented a goal. A very good chance. 37 minutes into the match, BK Merzog's goal looked a bit too open when Pär Ahlquist came free, but Adam Hansson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Frans Flink fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Holger Dalman having to interfere. In the 46th minute, Pär Ahlquist reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Adam Hansson. The goal made the score 1-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The wind increased when Pär Ahlquist made the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Linneryd's Holger Dalman got control of the ball when Gert Lönn tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 57 minutes of play, BK Merzog's Alfred Koch made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Holger Dalman was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the match had gone on for 61 minutes, Alfred Koch put it in 1-4 from a short distance just to the right of Holger Dalman. The supporters of Linneryd booed when BK Merzog was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gert Lönn didn't get a good kick on the ball. During the 65th minute of the match Marc Duset completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Marc Duset a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 65 played minutes BK Merzog got a freekick which was hit by Marc Duset. When Frans Flink came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the BK Merzog fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frans Flink couldn't finish the play. In the 70thth minute of the game Pär Ahlquist who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but BK Merzog's Adam Hansson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Linneryd's Holger Dalman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frans Flink in the 71st minute of play. Per-Erik Gerdberg hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Pär Ahlquist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Adam Hansson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 79 minutes, Sten Billock managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Linneryd's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sten Billock was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Frans Flink was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 83rd minute. BK Merzog's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. If Alfred Koch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Frans Flink's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Holger Dalman read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. Holger Dalman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frans Flink, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Villiam Nyman kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. When the match was over BK Merzog could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Linneryd throughout the match.
