The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Ljungbyholm FF booed when Meltington FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anders Svensson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sebastian Vesterberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jon Hellsing, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. After a rather tough play, Ljungbyholm FF's Jon Hellsing got a free kick in the 5th minute. 6 minutes into the game, Ola Malm cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Per Wennerqvist was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Meltington FC's Sebastian Vesterberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tobias Ersman in the 15th minute of play. In the 15th match minute, Meltington FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicklas Törnblom to maneuver through the defense. After 18 minutes of play, Ljungbyholm FF's Ludwig Hydén made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sebastian Vesterberg was left in no man's land by his defense there! Tobias Ersman scored 1-2 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sebastian Vesterberg, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Meltington FC's goalkeeper Sebastian Vesterberg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Per Wennerqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rolf Vidman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 30 minutes, Olov Göransson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ljungbyholm FF and the Meltington FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 30 played minutes Ljungbyholm FF got a freekick which was hit by Olov Göransson. Emil Söderqwist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Per Wennerqvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 38 played minutes Ljungbyholm FF got a freekick which was hit by Andreas Groth. Sebastian Vesterberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ludwig Hydén, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. 43 minutes into the match, Meltington FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ludwig Hydén came free, but Sebastian Vesterberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 44 minutes, Ludwig Hydén put it in 2-3 from a short distance just to the right of Sebastian Vesterberg. Ludwig Hydén fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastian Vesterberg having to interfere. After the first half Ljungbyholm FF were leading 2-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rolf Vidman to make the kick off. Johan Fågel charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Benjamin Juhlin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Per Wennerqvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sebastian Vesterberg made a fantastic save in the 98th minute, when Nils-Emil Jonsson sent off a good shot on target. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
