Bengt Kruuse fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gösta Lundkvist having to interfere. Bengt Kruuse received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Gösta Lundkvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Verner Wästerberg got free with Pål Lundgren in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 13 played minutes Ad Astra Per Aspera got a freekick which was hit by Mikael Ahlgren. Rickard Tomasson struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Pål Lundgren didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pistoleros FC. Bengt Kruuse received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Gösta Lundkvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gösta Lundkvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernt Dahlkvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rd minute, Bernt Dahlkvist got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 24 minutes, Stig-Åke Kullander mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pistoleros FC and the Ad Astra Per Aspera players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Pistoleros FC getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Stig-Åke Kullander hit a great ball. If Bernt Dahlkvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 34th minute, Rickard Tomasson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 42 minutes into the match, Bengt Kruuse notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Pistoleros FC's Gösta Lundkvist. Gösta Lundkvist was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After the first half Ad Astra Per Aspera were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bernt Dahlkvist made a kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Verner Wästerberg in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pål Lundgren prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Ad Astra Per Aspera booed when Pistoleros FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pär Simonsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Bernt Dahlkvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Verner Wästerberg might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pål Lundgren. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Verner Wästerberg ran back to his position shaking his head. 71 minutes into the match, Pistoleros FC's Rickard Tomasson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pål Lundgren narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Pål Lundgren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rickard Tomasson, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. In the 89th minute, Pär Simonsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 91 minutes, Bengt Kruuse managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ad Astra Per Aspera's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bengt Kruuse was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Ad Astra Per Aspera supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Ad Astra Per Aspera would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
