Mats Kihlman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Knut Mårtensson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hans Lindgren made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Bengt-Åke Ekerot sent off a good shot on target. An unexpected shot in the 34th minute by Bengt-Åke Ekerot got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 35 minutes into the game, Manchester United FC's Jonatan Löfskog nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mats Kihlman made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jim Vennerlund during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 39 played minutes Manchester United FC got a freekick which was hit by Jim Vennerlund. Real Täby IK's Mats Kihlman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonatan Löfskog in the 46th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Börje Bergström was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jim Vennerlund in the 51st minute of play forced Real Täby IK's goalkeeper Mats Kihlman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 51 minutes, Dan Josefsson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Real Täby IK and the Manchester United FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Real Täby IK's Dan Josefsson got a free kick in the 51st minute. Knut Mårtensson in the 53rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Mats Kihlman came out of the goal and Knut Mårtensson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 63 minutes, Börje Bergström managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Real Täby IK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Börje Bergström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 65 minutes into the match, Real Täby IK's goalkeeper Mats Kihlman had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Knut Mårtensson. Börje Bergström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hans Lindgren having to interfere. Knut Mårtenssons short, quick shot in the 81stth minute got Mats Kihlman to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Jonatan Löfskog sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Börje Bergström in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hans Lindgren prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Börje Bergström struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Hans Lindgren didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Real Täby IK. Jonatan Löfskog struck a weak shot in the 98th minute. Mats Kihlman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manchester United FC.
