When Bror Rosen came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Fotbollsskolan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bror Rosen couldn't finish the play. In the 30th minute, Nils-Emil Frisk made a precise shot to the right of Holger Myhr. Fotbollsskolan's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Bror Rosen did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-1 to the left of a surprised Bengt-Rune Sjöberg 36 minutes into the match. 42 minutes into the match, Olympique Marseille's goalkeeper Bengt-Rune Sjöberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mathias Hedlund. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bror Rosen to make the kick off. After 53 minutes, Börje Ek mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fotbollsskolan and the Olympique Marseille players grew even worse after the yellow card. Fotbollsskolan's Mathias Hedlund got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Nils-Emil Frisk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Fotbollsskolan getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Christopher Pihlblad hit a great ball. Andréas Gustavsson kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Nils-Emil Frisk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Holger Myhr having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Fotbollsskolan had won after a very even match.
