The supporters of Rengsjö BF booed when Stensjön was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. George Thidén didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tord Lingren was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Svante Bennet. With a little luck, Stensjön's Tord Lingren got control of the ball when Joachim Utfal tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 28thth minute of the game Joachim Utfal who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Stensjön's Tord Lingren was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee ignored Rengsjö BF's protests and gave Joachim Utfal a yellow card for diving instead. Joachim Utfal kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. André Markusson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Tord Lingren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Stensjön's Alfons Petersson shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 54th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Kjell Caspersson but with some difficulty. Stensjön's Kalle Axelsson got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by George Thidén in the 57th minute of play forced Rengsjö BF's goalkeeper Kjell Caspersson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 57 minutes into the match, George Thidén notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Rengsjö BF's Kjell Caspersson.
