In the 10thth minute of the game Ivan Jönsätt who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Grimstorp IFK's Patrik Nordlander was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Grimstorp IFK defense, Ivan Jönsätt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Patrik Nordlander. The Grimstorp IFK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Patrik Nordlander should have stopped the shot. Ärla FK's Svante Gustafsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claes Larsfält in the 21st minute of play. After 40 played minutes Ärla FK got a freekick which was hit by Tobias Alström. After having played for 42 minutes, Claes Larsfält managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grimstorp IFK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claes Larsfält was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Claes Larsfält made a kick off. Svante Gustafsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tony Blomqvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Ivan Jönsätt charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ivan Jönsätt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Ärla FK getting a freekick after 62 minutes play.
