In the 29th minute of the match Lars-Erik Löfgren sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Svante Gustafsson skillfully saved the ball. After 32 minutes, Herman Joensson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ärla FK and the Grimstorp IFK players grew even worse after the yellow card. Herman Joensson kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

After a rather tough play, Ärla FK's Sune Brun got a free kick in the 55th minute. The audience was convinced that Claes Larsfält's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Svante Gustafsson was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sven-Arne Strand couldn't finish the play. If Ivan Jönsätt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ivan Jönsätt in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Patrik Nordlander saved Grimstorp IFK from getting behind. After having played for 79 minutes, Ivan Jönsätt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ärla FK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ivan Jönsätt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Ärla FK's zone, Tony Blomqvist stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Svante Gustafsson came out of the goal and Tony Blomqvist tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Claes Larsfält sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ivan Jönsätt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patrik Nordlander having to interfere. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
