After 10 minutes of play, Eskilstuna's Karl-Ove Vallin made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Michael Westerberg was left in no man's land by his defense there! Michael Westerberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan-Åke Offendahl in the 17th minute of the match. If Håkan Dalkvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Karl-Ove Vallin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. WAXHOLM's Michael Westerberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karl-Ove Vallin in the 25th minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, WAXHOLM's goal looked a bit too open when Jan-Åke Offendahl came free, but Michael Westerberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Eskilstuna booed when WAXHOLM was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fredrik Asplund didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sven-Arne Sörman charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sven-Arne Sörman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 33 played minutes WAXHOLM got a freekick which was hit by Sven-Arne Sörman. Dennis Berglund took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pontus Sigfridsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 42 minutes into the game, Håkan Dalkvist recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Dennis Berglund. Håkan Dalkvist showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pontus Sigfridsson made a kick off. In the 51st match minute, Eskilstuna was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alvin Bivall to maneuver through the defense. Michael Westerberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karl-Ove Vallin, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Jan-Åke Offendahl fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michael Westerberg having to interfere. After having played for 82 minutes, Karl-Ove Vallin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Eskilstuna's supporters crossed their fingers, but Karl-Ove Vallin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Karl-Ove Vallin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Michael Westerberg having to make a save. Michael Westerberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jan-Åke Offendahl in the 86th minute. The supporters of WAXHOLM booed when Eskilstuna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gabriel Göransson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dennis Berglund showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Håkan Dalkvist in the 91st minute of the match. Jan-Åke Offendahl fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michael Westerberg having to interfere. The WAXHOLM supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Eskilstuna's performance. The match ended with a win for Eskilstuna.
