The audience thought a goal was coming when Konrad Lundgren got free with Karl-Johan Brun in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Karl-Johan Brun was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Tomas Hedling showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 23 minute of play. In the 26th minute, Dag Olsmann got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Jax FC booed when Mörlunda BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henric Käcker didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 35th minute Tomas Hedling shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Johan Brun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 41 minutes had been played when some careless play by Jax FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Georg Sefastsson was slow to take the kick. During this time Mörlunda BK's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Bertil Martinsson almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Jax FC's Karl-Johan Brun did a great save. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Hedling stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Karl Törnqvist fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jax FC's protests and gave Karl Törnqvist a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Jax FC getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Karl Törnqvist hit a great ball. Mörlunda BK's Konrad Lundgren got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tomas Hedling recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Karl-Johan Brun stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Konrad Lundgren's shot from short distance in the 87th minute.
