Lars Östensson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patric Svanström in the 10th minute of the match. Patric Svanström succeeded in the game's 12th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1. Adam Gullesson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arne Albäck in the 18th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Ljung's zone, Patric Svanström stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lars Östensson came out of the goal and Patric Svanström tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Adam Wennerquist kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. In the 24th minute Patric Svanström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lars Östensson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Matthias Hjortberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Adam Wennerquist fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ljung's protests and gave Adam Wennerquist a yellow card for diving instead. After 27 played minutes Ljung got a freekick which was hit by Adam Wennerquist. In the 32nd minute Patric Svanström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lars Östensson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 33 played minutes Ljung got a freekick which was hit by Michael Nyberg. Matthias Hjortberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lars Östensson having to interfere. Michael Nyberg kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arne Albäck to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arne Albäck in the 58th minute of play forced Lyckeby BF's goalkeeper Adam Gullesson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jens-Ove Termander in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Adam Gullesson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 73rd minute, Jim Hydén hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Paul Lindkvist took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 74th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Adam Gullesson. Lyckeby BF's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 78 played minutes Ljung got a freekick which was hit by Jens-Ove Termander. Lyckeby BF's Patric Svanström got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 86th minute, Patric Svanström got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ljung's goalkeeper Lars Östensson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 92 minutes into the game, Arne Albäck cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Adam Gullesson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
