Spectators: 7231 (Terracing: 5425, Seating: 1663, VIP seats: 143) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jörgen Rönn started the match with the kick off. In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind Silverdalen's goalkeeper Yngve Västerberg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carl Höijer in the 7th minute of play forced Sala BK's goalkeeper Jan Backlund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carl Höijer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan Backlund having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Torsten Malmgren during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Silverdalen booed when Sala BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Torsten Malmgren didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Carl Höijer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leif Kjellkvist blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jan Backlund having to make a save. Yngve Västerberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aron Glanselius, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Silverdalen's Yngve Västerberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aron Glanselius in the 26th minute of play. 30 minutes into the match, Silverdalen's goal looked a bit too open when Jörgen Rönn came free, but Yngve Västerberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Yngve Västerberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lars Nordlander, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. After 44 minutes of play, Sala BK's Uno Borre made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Yngve Västerberg was left in no man's land by his defense there!

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Carl Höijer was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Sala BK getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Lars Nordlander hit a great ball. Torsten Malmgren recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jörgen Rönn recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. With his leg Yngve Västerberg managed to avoid a goal in the 57thth minute, when Sala BK's Aron Glanselius fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Aron Glanselius managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sala BK's supporters rose to their feet, but Aron Glanselius was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Yngve Västerberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Jörgen Rönn came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Sala BK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jörgen Rönn couldn't finish the play. 62 minutes into the match, Silverdalen's goalkeeper Yngve Västerberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aron Glanselius. Sala BK's Jörgen Rönn got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jörgen Rönn in the 66th minute of play forced Silverdalen's goalkeeper Yngve Västerberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Evert Månsson's late challenge caught a Sala BK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Evert Månsson helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Sala BK booed when Silverdalen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Evert Månsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 76th minute Sala BK were awarded a corner. Arne Eriksson went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Sala BK's Lars Nordlander to a score. 0-2 in the 77th minute. In the 81st minute, Aron Glanselius got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jörgen Rönn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Silverdalen's zone, Aron Glanselius stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yngve Västerberg came out of the goal and Aron Glanselius tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jan Backlund made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evert Månsson in the 95th minute of play. The Silverdalen fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Sala BK were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
