Vittinge FF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hörnefors IF the free kick. Olof Zander hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Rune Boklund might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sixten Persson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rune Boklund ran back to his position shaking his head. Sixten Persson came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Hörnefors IF's Rune Boklund. But to his dismay, Rune Boklund quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Rune Boklund fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sixten Persson having to interfere. In the 14th minute, Daniel Viklund hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rune Boklund struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Sixten Persson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hörnefors IF. When Hörnefors IF's Rune Boklund in the 20th minute got a chance for a shot 20th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Vittinge FF's goalie prevented a goal. Wiktor Möller kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Vittinge FF's zone, Rune Boklund stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sixten Persson came out of the goal and Rune Boklund tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 38 minutes into the match, Evert Lundkvist had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sixten Persson. Vittinge FF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Evert Lundkvist was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 44th minute, Rune Boklund ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sixten Persson was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rune Boklund to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rune Boklund got free with Sixten Persson in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 55 minutes into the game, Rune Boklund recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Sixten Persson. Rune Boklund showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. Bo-Erik Bergström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sixten Persson having to interfere. After 62 minutes, Wiktor Möller mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vittinge FF and the Hörnefors IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Tommy Hellström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Hörnefors IF's Mattias Hydén got a free kick in the 68th minute. Vittinge FF's Sixten Persson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Vittinge FF from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Vittinge FF booed when Hörnefors IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mattias Hydén didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 78 minutes, Rune Boklund mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hörnefors IF and the Vittinge FF players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Hörnefors IF getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Rune Boklund hit a great ball. Hörnefors IF's Rune Boklund got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sixten Persson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rune Boklund, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sixten Persson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rune Boklund's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Hörnefors IF had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
