Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Herbert Malmgren made the kick off and thus started the match. Tomas Hultstrand showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Herbert Malmgren in the 7th minute of the match. When Per Sjödin came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Åtorp IFK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Per Sjödin couldn't finish the play. In the 10th minute, Ivar Wiklund got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Åtorp IFK's Per Sjödin slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tomas Hultstrand. That made the score 1-0 after 13 minutes of play. Vilhelm Jespersson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Christian Valström read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. 34 minutes into the match, Åtorp IFK's goal looked a bit too open when Egil Sandberg came free, but Christian Valström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ivar Wiklund sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vilhelm Jespersson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christian Valström having to interfere. In the 41st minute of the match Gösta Ek sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Christian Valström skillfully saved the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Torbjörn Överman during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of FC UTÖ booed when Åtorp IFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Torbjörn Överman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vilhelm Jespersson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vilhelm Jespersson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ivar Wiklund to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Per Sjödin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tomas Hultstrand. FC UTÖ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Per Sjödin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. After some careless play in the Åtorp IFK defense, Vilhelm Jespersson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Christian Valström. The Åtorp IFK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Christian Valström should have stopped the shot. In the 60th minute, Per Sjödin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Åtorp IFK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. 64 minutes in the game, Ivar Wiklund fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Christian Valström having to interfere. After 75 played minutes FC UTÖ got a freekick which was hit by Robert Nordkvist. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Herbert Malmgren in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tomas Hultstrand prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Claes Dahlqvist hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Tomas Hultstrand showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Per Sjödin, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. If Ivar Wiklund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Vilhelm Jespersson managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC UTÖ's supporters rose to their feet, but Vilhelm Jespersson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Christian Valström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Herbert Malmgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Henric Wiklund got free with Christian Valström in the 98th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. For all the effort they put into the match, the FC UTÖ players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Åtorp IFK.
