The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Wictor Larsfält hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oskar Moberg in the 7th minute of play forced Holsbybrunn IF's goalkeeper Örjan Jespersson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 8 played minutes Holsbybrunn IF got a freekick which was hit by Bertil Östman. After 11 played minutes Holsbybrunn IF got a freekick which was hit by Pär Melberg. After recieving a nice pass, Änglarnas FK's Eskil Ahlfors tried to score from far away in the 12th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Daniel Sundin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Änglarnas FK getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Sivert Botvidsson hit a great ball. When Magne Rosendal came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Änglarnas FK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Magne Rosendal couldn't finish the play. 22 minutes into the match, Holsbybrunn IF's goal looked a bit too open when Magne Rosendal came free, but Örjan Jespersson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 26th minute, Änglarnas FK's Eskil Ahlfors seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Eskil Ahlfors the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Änglarnas FK protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Eskil Ahlfors had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After a rather tough play, Holsbybrunn IF's Wictor Larsfält got a free kick in the 31st minute. Sivert Botvidsson might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Örjan Jespersson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sivert Botvidsson ran back to his position shaking his head. Änglarnas FK's Calle Stephansson got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Magne Rosendal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Örjan Jespersson having to interfere. After some careless play in the Holsbybrunn IF defense, Sivert Botvidsson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Örjan Jespersson. The Holsbybrunn IF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Örjan Jespersson should have stopped the shot. Magne Rosendal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adrian Wallander to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Änglarnas FK's Sivert Botvidsson got a free kick in the 50th minute. With a little luck, Holsbybrunn IF's Örjan Jespersson got control of the ball when Magne Rosendal tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Holsbybrunn IF getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Pär Melberg hit a great ball. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Örjan Jespersson, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Pär Melberg hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Daniel Sundin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Änglarnas FK's Magne Rosendal got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 84 played minutes Sivert Botvidsson rounded Holsbybrunn IF's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-3. The Holsbybrunn IF fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Änglarnas FK were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
