Djurgårdens IF's Aron Bark got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Hans Lundkvist kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ronny Kalfhage. That made the score 2-0 in the 21 minute of play. With his leg Ronny Kalfhage managed to avoid a goal in the 24thth minute, when Djurgårdens IF's Hans Lundkvist fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. With a little luck, Millennium if's Ronny Kalfhage got control of the ball when Hans Lundkvist tried to sneak it across the goal line. Aron Bark charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aron Bark the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Djurgårdens IF getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Aron Bark hit a great ball. Djurgårdens IF's Hans Lundkvist got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Albert Mickelsson hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Hans Lundkvist's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ronny Kalfhage read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. Hans Lundkvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Ronny Kalfhage tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kent Mattsson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, Millennium if was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dag Kollberg to maneuver through the defense. If Hans Lundkvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Hans Lundkvist's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ronny Kalfhage was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice moves Thomas Frisck could shoot a difficult shot in the 93rd minute, which Alfred Låsberg however easily saved by the left post. 94 minutes into the game, Marcus Sjöberg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Djurgårdens IF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Millennium if the free kick. In the 94th minute, Marcus Sjöberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Thomas Frisck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
