Leonardo Öfverman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bo Mogren in the 8th minute of play. Åke Forsberg hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. The supporters of Sundbyberg RK booed when Askersund was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bo Mogren didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alvar Lind received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Krister Sigfridsson came out and tried to block the shot, but Alvar Lind slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 16th minute. Leonardo Öfverman came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Askersund's Gert Termander. But to his dismay, Gert Termander quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Leonardo Öfverman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gert Termander in the 27th minute of the match. Leonardo Öfverman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gert Termander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Bo Mogren's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leonardo Öfverman was relentless in the 41st minute of the game. Leonardo Öfverman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alvar Lind was the one to do the kick off. After 53 minutes, Adam Dahlbom mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sundbyberg RK and the Askersund players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Sundbyberg RK's Elof Lundström got a free kick in the 55th minute. Gert Termander received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Leonardo Öfverman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gert Termander might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leonardo Öfverman. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gert Termander ran back to his position shaking his head. Bo Mogren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonardo Öfverman having to interfere. Elof Lundström kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Gert Termander who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 82ndth minute tested the skills of Leonardo Öfverman when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 84 minutes into the game, Alvar Lind cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Krister Sigfridsson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 90 minutes into the match, Sundbyberg RK's goal looked a bit too open when Bo Mogren came free, but Leonardo Öfverman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 93rd minute, Sundbyberg RK's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Bo Mogren fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Sundbyberg RK succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Askersund had controlled the match.
