Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Börje Svanér to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Börje Svanér in the 53rd minute of play forced Hammarby IF's goalkeeper Filip Berg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Romelanda's Bengt Hellqvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jimmy Pihlwall in the 56th minute of play. If Jimmy Pihlwall had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aron Melin's late challenge caught a Romelanda's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After 93 minutes, Leif Kielberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Romelanda and the Hammarby IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Romelanda's Leif Kielberg got a free kick in the 94th minute. If Lars Wennerqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute.
