Tage Fredriksson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lars Wennerqvist's late challenge caught a Manchester United FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lars Wennerqvist helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Manchester United FC booed when Hammarby IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lars Wennerqvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Manchester United FC's Wictor Gullesson got a free kick in the 28th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Hammarby IF's Aron Melin tried to score from far away in the 28th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Karl-Johan Salkvist kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. 39 minutes into the match, Hammarby IF's Aron Melin broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 40 minutes into the game, Karl-Johan Salkvist was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Manchester United FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hammarby IF the free kick. Lars Wennerqvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Konrad Zander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Jonas Wennerqvist recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 58 minutes into the match, Hammarby IF's goalkeeper Filip Berg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Verner Pihlberg. Verner Pihlberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jimmy Pihlwall fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Konrad Zander having to interfere. Jonas Wennerqvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Konrad Zander having to interfere. Konrad Zander showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jimmy Pihlwall, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. The audience was convinced that Jimmy Pihlwall's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Konrad Zander was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. Konrad Zander didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hammarby IF. If Jimmy Pihlwall had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 92 minutes, Lars Wennerqvist made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Manchester United FC's Konrad Zander tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Hammarby IF's Jimmy Pihlwall got a free kick in the 95th minute. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Hammarby IF had played much better football throughout.
