In the 26th match minute, Örnas Legender was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sigvard Tunström to maneuver through the defense. Sten Bergren was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 58th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Marko Askelöf made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mikael Åkerberg in the 63rd minute. 72 minutes into the match, Hornmyr IK's goal looked a bit too open when Torsten Pilblad came free, but Gösta Berggren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee showed Ingemar Håning the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 82 minutes into the game, one of Hornmyr IK:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Leif Bergqvist walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. After 91 played minutes Hornmyr IK got a freekick which was hit by Mikael Åkerberg. When the match clock showed 98 minutes, the score became 4-0 when Eskil Odeen sped through Hornmyr IK's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gösta Berggren. Örnas Legender walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
