Andreas Sjöström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karl-Magnus Nilsson having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Karl-Michael Ståhlman got free with Karl-Magnus Nilsson in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Gimo IK's Otto Ödmann got a free kick in the 13th minute. 27 minutes into the match, Gimo IK's goal looked a bit too open when Jens-Åke Vallander came free, but Hugo Ström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Ian Lund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice moves Andreas Sjöström could shoot a difficult shot in the 29th minute, which Karl-Magnus Nilsson however easily saved by the left post. Sorkarnas BK's Mikael Kellberg got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Karl-Magnus Nilsson made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Karl-Michael Ståhlman sent off a good shot on target. Sverker Blomqvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 42nd minute, Gimo IK's Ian Lund ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Karl-Magnus Nilsson. Karl-Magnus Nilsson yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Karl-Magnus Nilsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ian Lund in the 47th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Ian Lund made the kick off in the second half. After 52 minutes of play, Gimo IK's Karl-Michael Ståhlman made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Karl-Magnus Nilsson was left in no man's land by his defense there! Mikael Kellberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to Sorkarnas BK getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Mikael Kellberg hit a great ball. The supporters of Sorkarnas BK booed when Gimo IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Billy Rudkvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jens-Åke Vallander recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Gimo IK's Otto Ödmann got a free kick in the 66th minute. After 71 played minutes Sorkarnas BK got a freekick which was hit by Jens-Åke Vallander. In the 78th match minute, Gimo IK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ian Lund to maneuver through the defense. In the 87th minute Andreas Sjöström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Magnus Nilsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sorkarnas BK's Dan Colin managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Sten Ahlfors in the 92 minute of the game. The Gimo IK support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
