Spectators: 7256 (Terracing: 5443, Seating: 1669, VIP seats: 144) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Joacim Collin got the match started through his kick off. Carl Stephansson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Mattias Söderquist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 15thth minute of the game Rikard Albäck who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Stjärnhov IF's Mattias Söderquist was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Stjärnhov IF's Mattias Söderquist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rikard Albäck in the 18th minute of play. The supporters of Busby Babes booed when Stjärnhov IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hjalmar Granqvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th minute Carl Stephansson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mattias Söderquist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Charlie Abelsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Stjärnhov IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Charlie Abelsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Håkan Alberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 30th minute, Gottfrid Ström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Calle Engström, 31 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Mattias Söderquist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rikard Albäck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Stjärnhov IF's Alf Björnsson got a free kick in the 35th minute. 39 minutes had been played when some careless play by Stjärnhov IF's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Calle Engström was slow to take the kick. During this time Busby Babes's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Busby Babes's corner Lucas Lundkvist fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Mattias Söderquist quite easily take care of the ball. Charlie Abelsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

58 minutes into the match, Rikard Albäck notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Stjärnhov IF's Mattias Söderquist. Mattias Söderquist was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Joacim Collin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Håkan Alberg having to interfere. Jan-Erik Fogel charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jan-Erik Fogel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Joacim Collin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Rikard Albäck fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Busby Babes's protests and gave Rikard Albäck a yellow card for diving instead. In the 70th match minute, Busby Babes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rikard Albäck to maneuver through the defense. If Carl Stephansson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jan-Erik Fogel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joacim Collin in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Håkan Alberg saved Busby Babes from getting behind. Mattias Söderquist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carl Stephansson, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. In the 85th minute, Carl Stephansson reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Mattias Söderquist. The goal made the score 0-2. Rikard Albäck struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Mattias Söderquist didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Busby Babes. 91 minutes into the match, Charlie Abelsson notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Busby Babes's Håkan Alberg. Håkan Alberg was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Busby Babes's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
